NEW PRINTS// MAY

A few new pieces, some of which will be coming to our Etsy shop soon.
I've been collaborating with Anni Daulter from Sacred Pregnancy to create a deck of meditation cards celebrating the 40 weeks of pregnancy. It's been so fun to have a base of inspiration to work from, and to watch ideas come to life, page after page. It also feels really good to have the pieces finally painted-- with only 5 weeks to go until my due date, I'm in full nesting mode and ready to focus on greeting our new little one.

LAUNCHING A DREAM

Today I officially opened our new Etsy shop! It feels so good to see this dream come to fruition, to know that I followed through and didn't let fear and doubt bring me down.

I have so many dreams for this new little shop-- opening it has given me a huge charge of energy and inspiration and I want to keep creating and keep bringing dreams to life. I still have a few more prints to add, and so many more that I can't wait to get onto paper.

But for now, I'm going to take a deep breath, send this baby off into the cyber universe, and enjoy my weekend!!

Happy Friday ya'll! Enjoy. :)

ART PRINT PREVIEW II

I had hoped to open my new Etsy shop this past full moon, but the date flew past and life got a bit wild (as it tends to do.) I'm slowly adding listing, copying prints, and photographing....trusting that it will all come together and launch when the time is right. Here are a few more sneak peeks of what's to come....

PAINTINGS/ PRINTS

I've set the next full moon as the release date for the new paintings and prints we'll be offering in the shop, so for the next two weeks, I'll be previewing them here.

I've had so much fun getting back in to painting. It was my first love, but something that fell by the wayside during the years of travel and then new mama-hood. It feels good to express things that don't really come out easily through jewelry making-- I love that I have more than one outlet for my creative energy now!

NEW-NESS!

Awhile back, I wrote about having a secret that I was waiting to share (no, I'm not pregnant :) My plan was to wait until everything was ready to announce the OPENING OF OUR NEW SHOP!! But, as you can tell, I'm just too excited to wait.

A few weeks ago, I experienced a major shift in energy. My heart broke open and lots of fears and doubts that I'd been carrying around for ages finally spilled out and drained away. I was left with a desire to live life to the fullest-- to dig down into my vulnerable places and let beauty and strength rise out of them.

For me, painting has always been an outlet. Long before I learned macrame, I painted-- alone, in the privacy my room, in a sketchbook that I guarded like a diary. I loved painting and drawing, but I didn't feel like I was any good at it. I had some insanely artistic friends in high school, and I felt like I could never live up to their talent, so I kept my art hidden.

But I'm ready to break down that barrier-- I'm ready to share my art with the world. My paintings are a reflection of the beauty that I see all around me-- the incredible, powerful, gorgeous, soulful women who are in my life and who I've met here in cyberspace. I want to honor them and their beauty-- reflect it back, keep the energy moving, and release my own fears and doubts.

So here we go!! Studio Spirit&Sol on Etsy will be open at the end of the month, stocked with prints of the paintings above, along with many more.

New Creations

I've been riding a creative wave for the past few weeks-- it feels like there isn't enough time in the day to make all the treasures in my mind.

I created the wall hanger above for a dear auntie of mine who is battling breast cancer right now. She's such a bright, positive person and she's facing this challenge with so much bravery and faith. I meditated on her healing and recovery as I created this, and I'm so happy to know that its presence in her room is helping her feel cared for.

I loved the process of making the hanger so much that I decided to create another one for our Etsy shop

I've also been making lots of feather headbands. The summer vibes and thoughts of festivals and outdoor concerts have me so excited and inspired.

"Adobe" photo shoot

I'm loving these shots from the photo shoot for our winter collection!
Spirit Y Sol

We've been experimenting with new stones and textures... this Pyrite Macrame Bracelet  is especially unique and funky. I love the rawness of the pyrite (fool's gold) and the fact that it's a powerful healing stone.

Beads, beads, and more beads! We've been having fun adding wild textures to our new pieces, like this Quartz and Tiger's Eye Macrame Bracelet. The sharp lines of the quartz contrast so nicely with the smooth tigers eye beads.
