I've always had a love affair with nests. My dad used to bring them home from work--everything from small neat robins nests to enormous messy crow's nests. I felt such a strong connection with the mama birds, who carefully collected twigs and grass and yarn and thread and weaved them into cozy homes for their babes.

SWEET GOLDEN DREAMS
Dreams of fairies and magical boat rides, wrapped in golden light and baby snuggles. Love paints pretty pictures in my eyes as I watch my little ones sleep.
I hold the paintbrush- love paints the pictures.

<< TEN MOONS >>
My newest creation-- <<TEN MOONS~ a meditation journal for pregnancy, birth, and postpartum>> has been birthed and is now available for preorder through our Etsy shop! It's so exciting to finally hold this journal in my hand, after many months of dreaming and creating it.
This journal is a collaboration with Sandra Maurer from Whole Beginnings and was created from our desire to provide inspiration and soulful guidance to women during their motherhood journey. While carrying my boys in my belly, I felt more in tune with my inner self and spirit than at any other point in my life. I found myself journaling and drawing frequently- recording my thoughts and the changes my body was experiencing. Shortly after Koa was born, I began dreaming about creating a journal for other women-- space and inspiration to dive into the journey of pregnancy on a deeper level. And so, Ten Moons was born!!
This softcover journal features 100 pages of inspiration. Inside you will find:
-writing prompts to encourage your exploration
-powerful mantras to connect you to your inner strength
-blank pages to record all of your thoughts and feelings
-coloring pages to release your creativity
-guided meditations to help you journey within
-and inspiring images to fill you with joy
The journal features three guided meditations to help cultivate peace during your pregnancy.
There are three coloring pages throughout the journal, for fun, creative meditation,
I've included some of my favorite paintings throughout the journal, to reflect the beauty of the pregnant and birthing form-- and remind you that you are a beautiful goddess!
Each page features a powerful mantra to connect you with your inner strength.
Special pages throughout the journal help you create a birth plan, make preparations for the postpartum period, release fears/stories you have around birth, and record your birth story.

NEW PIECES// AUGUST
As August comes to an end (how did that happen!?) I thought I'd share some of my favorite pieces created this month. I'm still riding the birth waves-- dreaming of that powerful, sacred energy and the gorgeous goddess mamas that embody it.

NEW PRINTS// MAY
A few new pieces, some of which will be coming to our Etsy shop soon.
I've been collaborating with Anni Daulter from Sacred Pregnancy to create a deck of meditation cards celebrating the 40 weeks of pregnancy. It's been so fun to have a base of inspiration to work from, and to watch ideas come to life, page after page. It also feels really good to have the pieces finally painted-- with only 5 weeks to go until my due date, I'm in full nesting mode and ready to focus on greeting our new little one.

NEW PIECES// SEPTEMBER
There's so much I want to say, so much on my mind that I want to share, but I'm in the crazy space of moving houses and I can't seem to settle my thoughts enough to get them out onto paper. I managed to get a few new pieces painted, printed, and listed in the shop-- which makes me feel great. I'm looking forward to being settled into our new home (more on that soon!) so that I can get back to creating and sharing. Until then, here are some of the new pieces in Studio Spirit & Sol.

ART PRINT PREVIEW II
I had hoped to open my new Etsy shop this past full moon, but the date flew past and life got a bit wild (as it tends to do.) I'm slowly adding listing, copying prints, and photographing....trusting that it will all come together and launch when the time is right. Here are a few more sneak peeks of what's to come....

NEW-NESS!
Awhile back, I wrote about having a secret that I was waiting to share (no, I'm not pregnant :) My plan was to wait until everything was ready to announce the OPENING OF OUR NEW SHOP!! But, as you can tell, I'm just too excited to wait.
A few weeks ago, I experienced a major shift in energy. My heart broke open and lots of fears and doubts that I'd been carrying around for ages finally spilled out and drained away. I was left with a desire to live life to the fullest-- to dig down into my vulnerable places and let beauty and strength rise out of them.

I was left with a desire to live life to the fullest-- to dig down into my vulnerable places and let beauty and strength rise out of them.
For me, painting has always been an outlet. Long before I learned macrame, I painted-- alone, in the privacy my room, in a sketchbook that I guarded like a diary. I loved painting and drawing, but I didn't feel like I was any good at it. I had some insanely artistic friends in high school, and I felt like I could never live up to their talent, so I kept my art hidden.
But I'm ready to break down that barrier-- I'm ready to share my art with the world. My paintings are a reflection of the beauty that I see all around me-- the incredible, powerful, gorgeous, soulful women who are in my life and who I've met here in cyberspace. I want to honor them and their beauty-- reflect it back, keep the energy moving, and release my own fears and doubts.

So here we go!! Studio Spirit&Sol on Etsy will be open at the end of the month, stocked with prints of the paintings above, along with many more.
